RULE DESCRIPTION
4 Points will be awarded per match, 1 for each set won and 2 for winning the match
A bonus point will be awarded if you lose in straights sets AND pick up at least 6 games over the 2 sets. For example: if you lose 6-2, 6-4 you earn 1 bonus point for winning 6 games
All matches are over 2 sets with a standard tie break (first to 7 points) to decide each set. If one set all then a championship tie break (first to 10 points) needs to be played to decide the overall winner of the match
Aim to keep up with your fixtures. It is the responsibility of BOTH players to enter results in the Google Docs spreadsheet.
If anyone withdraws from the league for any reason then all their played and unplayed matches will be awarded to their opponents with a score of 6-0,6-0. They will then finish bottom of the league and subject to relegation if they rejoined the following season
Both players are responsible to contact their opponents to arrange the match and to enter results
If you can't complete a match in one session then note down the score and start again from that point in line with professional rules
In the event of points being equal in the final league standings, the count back will be in the following order: games won/lost difference, head-to-head record, coin toss
Any matches not played by the end of the season, for whatever reason, will result in 0 points to both players. The League Organiser will NOT enter into any disputes between players
Play-off matches cannot start until all Pool games are complete
The League Organiser's decision is final (i.e. Sunny!)
For any Play Off matches that aren't played, the following rule will be applied: the winner will be the player with the better Pool points record. Rule 8 will be invoked if points are equal.
3 bonus points will be awarded if you play half league matches before the 'half way date' and a further 3 points if you complete all your league matches before the 'deadline' . Ensure you enter your scores before midnight on the day of your match. The software will automatically record the entry date and award your bonus points accordingly. Both players will miss out of their bonus if results are logged after the 'half way date' or the 'deadline'. See also Rule 4.
Matches can be played in any sequence. The 'Matchday' fixtures are to be used as a guide.
If a match is conceded by a player for any reason (e.g. injury), then the opposition can enter a 6-0 6-0 win in the results sheet. The player that has conceded cannot pick up their next set of bonus points. E.g. if the match they concede is after they have picked up half way bonus points, then they will not receive their deadline bonus.
